Lucio La Rovere (EMBA 2017) has been promoted to Saipem’s Head of Procurement and Post Order role in Egypt.
Congratulations to EMBA participant Lucio La Rovere (EMBA 2017), whose 10-year career with energy company Saipem has progressed once more with a promotion to its Head of Procurement and Post Order role in Cairo, Egypt.
“I will be accountable for Saipem’s supply chain endeavours within the offshore construction and offshore drilling business units, and tasked to make the teams ready for the next multi-billion-dollar project. Furthermore, I will have to negotiate major deals, maintain existing business relationships with the major players in the local market and establish new relationships of strategic value.”
Lucio’s mechanical engineering background led him to Saipem as a young graduate, joining the organisation’s graduate accelerator programme in the Netherlands in 2007. Since then, Lucio has worked in Procurement roles across the EMEA region, including Italy, Azerbaijan and Georgia.
When asked how his Cambridge EMBA study would complement his new role, Lucio answers, “I hope that the Cambridge EMBA programme and my diverse class of professionals from across the globe will broaden my global business understanding, and allow for reciprocal networking opportunities. The programme will help me find ways to improve supply chain processes and turn it into a competitive advantage within the oil & gas sector.”
