Two ventures on the Accelerate Cambridge programme at Cambridge Judge Business School are selected for the semi-finals of the Santander Universities Entrepreneurship Awards.
Two ventures on the Accelerate Cambridge programme managed by the Cambridge Judge Entrepreneurship Centre – QBio and Legal Sphere – have been selected for the semi-finals of the Santander Universities Entrepreneurship Awards.
QBio is a platform designed to quickly deliver targeted, personalised antibiotics. Its diagnostic test and proprietary knowledge platform aims to personalise treatment to sepsis patients while fighting antimicrobial resistance.
Legal Sphere is an online legal platform that connects clients to freelance solicitors in England and Wales – allowing SMEs and startups to create legal projects, receive upfront quotes and conduct their work in one online space.
Will Bolton, co-founder of QBio, commented: “Reaching the semi-finals of the Santander Universities Entrepreneurship Awards is a great feeling and helps validate we are on the correct track with our entrepreneurial venture. As a team we feel privileged to be selected to represent the University of Cambridge and are excited about the doors this competition will open.”

The semi-final event will take place on 27 June at Nottingham Trent University, with 20 businesses from universities across the region pitching for a place on the Santander accelerator week and a space at the national final. Each business will have five minutes to pitch their idea, followed by questions and answers. The Santander awards began in 2011, aimed at providing a financial boost to early-stage student and graduate business ventures associated with Santander’s UK partner universities. Prizes include seed funding, mentoring and startup support.
