Biotech CEO wins British Council award.
Cambridge Judge graduate Chandler Robinson, the co-founder of a US biopharmaceutical company, won the Entrepreneurship Award at the British Council’s Education UK Alumni Awards 2015. He studied in the UK on a Gates Cambridge Scholarship.
The awards are divided into three competitions, for alumni from the US, India and China, and Chandler (Cambridge MBA 2009) won the Entrepreneurial Award in the US at a ceremony in New York on 21 March. The other categories are the Professional Achievement Award and Social Impact Award.
Chandler is CEO of Tactic Pharmaceuticals, a company that develops pre-clinical and clinical stage compounds for unmet medical needs. The company won orphan drug status from the US Food and Drug Administration for its treatment of Wilson Disease, a genetic disorder in which copper accumulates in tissues.
The Education UK Alumni Awards honour outstanding achievements by entrepreneurs, professionals and community leaders who can demonstrate how their education in the UK has impacted on their subsequent success.
The British Council said that Chandler’s Cambridge MBA helped him to develop “his business judgment and leadership skills, as well as his confidence to manage Tactic.”
