Ventures with Cambridge Judge connections shine at Business Excellence Awards.

2016-03-17_excellence-awards-883x432Three ventures with Cambridge Judge Business School connections were among the prize winners at the Business Excellence Awards announced on 17 March by the Cambridge News newspaper.

Simprints, a start-up supported by the Accelerate Cambridge programme at Cambridge Judge, scooped the Allia Award for Social Entrepreneurship. Simprints developed a biometric fingerprint scanner that allows healthcare workers in developing regions to access patients’ records through the touch of a finger. The company is running its first project in Bangladesh and has several other projects coming up.

Arcus Global won the award for Small Business of The Year award, sponsored by Robinsons Mercedes-Benz. Arcus Global, which provides cloud computing to public services, was co-founded in 2009 by Denis Kaminskiy and Lars Malmqvist, two Cambridge MBA alumni from the 2008 MBA class.

Horizon Discovery Group won Business of the Year award, sponsored by Price Bailey. The life science company provides products, services and research to pharmaceutical firms developing new gene therapies. It is headed by Darrin M. Disley, who has strong connections with Cambridge Judge.
