Study co-authored by Cambridge Judge Business School’s Bang Dang Nguyen found that companies whose directors are connected to winning gubernatorial candidates immediately increase in value. “In our research we try to quantify the impact of connection to the winning candidate in a typical gubernatorial election in the US, and first we look at stock reactions to firms connected to the loser and firms connected to the winners,” commented Dr Nguyen. (Listen from 11m 35s)
