‘Savvy’ awards

A book that looks at the history of financial markets, edited by Professor Elroy Dimson and Dr David Chambers of the Newton Centre for Endowment Asset Management at Cambridge Judge Business School, was named Best Investment Paper 2017 by the website Savvy Investor.

The 279 page compendium of papers, entitled Financial Market History: Reflections on the Past for Investors Today and published by CFA Institute Research Foundation, was described as a “compelling tour de force” by Savvy Investor.

In addition, the Global Investment Returns Yearbook 2017, co-authored by Professor Elroy Dimson and published by Credit Suisse, received a Highly Commended citation by Savvy Investor in the category Best Asset Allocation Paper 2017. The paper, which looks at 26 countries going back to 1900, was described as a “detailed, must-read report” by Savvy Investor, whose awards honour the best investment and pensions papers from the last 12 months.
