Five Cambridge Judge Business School nominations for this year’s Vice-Chancellor’s Awards, with winners to be announced in July.

Five people from Cambridge Judge Business School have been nominated for the 2017 Vice-Chancellor’s Awards at the University of Cambridge, with the winners to be announced on Thursday 13 July by Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Leszek Borysiewicz.

There are three Cambridge Judge nominees for this year’s Impact Awards:

  • Dr Chris Hope, Reader in Policy Modelling
  • Dr Mark Thompson, University Senior Lecturer in Information Systems
  • Professor Elroy Dimson, Chairman of the Newton Centre for Endowment Asset Management (CEAM)

The Vice-Chancellor’s Impact Awards were established to recognise and reward those whose research has led to excellent impact beyond academia – with “impact” defined as “an effect on, change or benefit to the economy, society, culture, public policy or services, health, the environment or quality of life, beyond academia.”

There are two Cambridge Judge nominees for this year’s Public Engagement with Research Awards:

  • Neil Stott, Senior Faculty in Management Practice, Director of the Master of Studies in Social Innovation Programme, and Co-Director of the Cambridge Centre for Social Innovation.
  • Belinda Bell, Director of the Cambridge Social Ventures programme, part of the Cambridge Centre for Social Innovation.

The Public Engagement with Research Awards recognise public engagement that is “underpinned by contemporary research”, involving two-way exchange and engaging people and organisations from beyond academia.
