The Entrepreneurship Centre at Cambridge Judge supports new programme that uses artificial intelligence to tackle major NHS challenges.
The Entrepreneurship Centre at Cambridge Judge Business School and the Eastern Academic Health Science Network (Eastern AHSN) are sponsoring a new programme that brings together the health sector, universities and the tech industry to use artificial intelligence to tackle major challenges in the National Health Service.
Applications are now open for the programme, called MedTechBOOST, which has been launched by business network Central Working and innovation specialists Studio Zao. The five day, free-to-enter programme starts on 2 September 2019 at The Bradfield Centre, the tech hub at Cambridge Science Park. It is open to startups, technologists, researchers, PhDs, consultants and other clinicians who would like the opportunity to come together with supporters and partners to co-create solutions that address two of the biggest challenges facing the NHS today – mental health and healthy ageing.
Teams will develop early ideas into clear business propositions and prototypes, making use of mentorship and guidance from 14 partners including AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, ARM, Cambridge Judge Business School and Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. The programme culminates with teams pitching for investment and collaboration from Eastern Academic Health Science Network (Eastern AHSN) and other leading healthcare industry partners.
Eastern AHSN, one of 15 regional networks established by NHS England to accelerate and scale healthcare innovation, started MedTechBOOST to tackle mental health and healthy ageing.

Entrepreneurs, students, early-stage startups, tech practitioners and healthcare professionals are all invited to apply via MedTechBOOST.com, with applications closing on 31 July 2019. Experience in the healthcare sector is not a requirement; applicants must simply have an early-stage idea or concept to bring to the programme.
